  • RAGS TO RICHES STORY

Here we have the image which captures the view from the roof garden and piazza of the proposed development looking north towards Edinburgh Castle, and shows the quality and luxury environment of the residential element of the new quarter.

The image details the landscaped outdoor surroundings of the apartments and luxury penthouses that would be built alongside the retail galleria. With framed views to prominent locations across the city, including Calton Hill, Firth of Forth and the capital’s traditional new town, this roof top space would incorporate lush green landscaping to create a sheltered and comfortable setting.

The piazza area would also feature a small selection of top-quality eating areas from leading restaurateurs to offer an unrivalled dining experience in perfect roof top surroundings. The sweeping continental style of the galleria which is visible in this image, would form the shape for this roof top space and create a perfect backdrop for city centre living.

Easily accessed through a separate entrance with dedicated car parking and concierge services, the garden area would also be resistant to weather extremities, with much of it kept dry by awnings. Underfloor heating created from re-useable energy, would also make it a much more comfortable environment in the colder months.

Myles White added: "These images offer various snapshots into Edinburgh’s future and how the new St James Quarter will exist and complement the city. This image demonstrates our vision for the residential element of this development and the type of lifestyle that we want to bring to Edinburgh’s city centre; creating a beautifully landscaped area and the chance to indulge in the highest quality dining experiences. All perfectly complemented by unrivalled views.”
